I’ve been getting really in to the invrt king pins and I from what I see this is going to be the best it has an original design. The main issue with every inverted king pin is it gets lose over time If it starts to get loose from the nut paint the threads with nail polish and then screw it back on the nail polish will act as a weak glue so you can still adjust it

Tom has to be the coolest/nicest guy ever from Philly (next to Phil & April Margera 😂). From my experience people from Philly are mean & miserable lol

Fuller nose vs tapered (take a peep at McCoys 8.25) but you're the pro, you do you ;) I rode your prior 8.2 (too long for me as well) and ended up not liking the kick shape; switched to the mccoy/asp shape - SC-365 (NHS shape code) those kicks, just a hair shorter board and 14" wb would be really nice. 100% destroyed that ledge. So good.

Egg shaped

I tried a few egg boards and I wasn’t down with it. I like as fat of a nose and tail as I can get. But TBH as long as the board is 8.75 I am usually fine.

hmmm i have the 8 in taper with the liberty bell graphic.. it is veryyy small. but i wanted that for a more tech flick board. but that shape at an 8.25 does sound very scoopy

Very interesting. I personally like the Alien Workshop twin. Has 6.8 noses and is 8.25. The noses are very boxy. Would definitely try a Santa Cruz twin though.

Awesome. I'm riding Maurio McCoy Vx decks for 2 years know and I love it but I wish it has a bit mellower kicks. Please let me know if you can compare yours with his or get info from Santa Cruz to check that, I'll be first in line to buy it if it's a bit mellower. Maybe shorter wheelbase like this will help with the pop and timing.

Are they still gonna make your 8.0s? That’s still my favourite shape, I might need to stock up.. I do have some 8.25 trucks laying around so il still be trying out the new shape but the 8.0 is fire for me

Yeah tom ! Skating is on point that board shape looks awesome, seems like it'll feel more like 8.1 flip wise but have that 8.25 stability - 0.05 100% matters ! ;-p . Man there is just something about short wheelbase huh, gonna have to peep these when they hit. Keep it lit man, loving the energy !

14" wheelbase, sub 7" twin nose/tail... put this board in production. Please. Let Santa Cruz do a small batch A/B testing with a tapered and non tapered nose/tail. See which one sells best or if both are viable. But for the love of skaters that grew up prior to the massive board era, give us this deck!

thats the same exact conformist popsickle board that skaters have been forced to use for 25-30 years now. and the nose and tail is the same. so its even more bland. then to top it off different companies use the same templates. skateboarding school uniform style

I’ve been skating girl’s twin tail - 8.5” wheelbase 14” - love it, the wheelbase helps spin tre flips effortlessly. But fs flips are harder. would like to try an 8.4” with the short wheelbase and twin tails

I may have missed this in a previous video, but what is your concave like? I've found that I really cannot skate a flat concave at all. I need something steep or at least mellow. Most importantly, steep kicks, and a good amount of concave (across) feels right to me. My go to wood shop is BBS, is your board similar?

Are the kicks the same too? Or is the nose steeper? More or less fingers of flat? 🤓

When you’re doing switch heel front crook, do you come at an angle or parallel? I used to be able to flip into them but I forgot how to approach it

I honestly think the future for truck companies is selling their regular stock trucks at shops, and selling combinations directly for a little extra, that way people don’t have to buy different pairs to mix.
